diaper bag ? - Petunia Pickle Bottom

So I've decided to buy myself a late Mother's Day gift.  I have a gift card to Nordstrom and have been looking at their bags/diaper bags online.  I would like one that I can take when we are out and about...nothing gigantic but large enough to fit the essentials.  I'm thinking along the lines of something that looks like a larger purse.  Does anyone have the Petunia Pickle Bottom Touring Tote?  I'm wondering if it is large enough to carry my essentials (wallet, cell phone, sunglasses) as well as DD's essentials (diapers, wipes, burp rag, paci.)  Below is a link to the one I'm looking at, I love how it hooks onto the stroller!  Any feedback is appreciated even if it is to recommend another bag I should consider.  TIA.

Re: diaper bag ? - Petunia Pickle Bottom

  • I think the PPBs are very pretty, and I know a lot of moms love them for their shape and size.  I feel that they aren't quite as functional as some others and I personally prefer a wipeable material or washable, such as Ju Ju Be or Lexie Barnes.  Ju Ju Be's are anti microbial!

Touring totes to me seemed huge.  I like the Ju Ju Be Be Spicy for that size.  Ju Ju Be's also hang on a stroller.

The Skip Hop Dash is also very functional and attaches to a stroller.  Another brand I like are any of the Fleurville bags (wipeable).  They are all great and attach to strollers.  Good luck!

    I have this PPB:

I like it. It's on the small to medium side and I like it for shorter trips. Sorry that might not be of much help to you.

  • I have two PPBs and I love them!

I have this one and this one, both in different fabrics.

I LOVE the first one for longer trips (zoo, mall, grandma's, etc).  Right now, it has 6 diapers, diaper cream, wipes (one of the large 40 count packs), disposable diaper throw away bags, disposable placemats, 3 books, a change of clothes, a full size handiwipe container, a stuffed animal, blanket, 2 burp clothes...and we normally add a sleeper, 2 sippy cups, a "snack mix", and other food for Kate.  Normally, I stick my wallet, cellphone, and keys in the bag as well and we still have PLENTY of room. Plus it comes with a fold out diaper changing pad.  I also really like the backpack feature and the fact that it converts to an over-the-shoulder bag is great.  One downfall, DH isn't too fond of the patter, but frankly, I don't care.  Big Smile  When Kate was younger, we could fit two bottles and a formula container in the bag with no problem.  Another downfall...the bottle pockets aren't insulated so they don't keep things cold/warm.

I just got the second one not too long ago.  This bag is suited for short trips (to the grocery, quick trip to the mall, etc).  It has 1 diaper, a pack of wipes, diaper cream, a book, a bink, and it could fit a small snack container.  It will also fit my coupon organizer and my debit card/id.  We actually took this bag to a family function a few weeks ago and my MIL and SIL commented on how cute it was and wanted to know where they could buy my purse.

I have never seen the touring tote in person, but I will say, the bags are much larger than they appear on screen.

    GL!
