I'm putting this out there to the GLBT folks. I enjoy being surrounded by diversity, and don't quite understand why your sexual orientation requires a new board. Was this a request by the GLBT community for a board where you could share your unique issues regarding pregnancy and parenting? Or was it the work of others who think the GLBT should get their own board?
Re: Why the new board?
Well yesterday Knotie Anni just posted saying that we were getting one, and asked for a vote on what to call it. We voted, here it is!
I'm not sure who requested what, or why. I'm just happy it's here!
And I'm sure that it's because some people wanted a more relevant place to post issues directly related to LGBT TTC.
Why wouldn't they get their own board?? Adoption for a gay couple is not as easy as it would be for a straight couple. There are still stereotypes. A perfect couple ready to raise a family could get look over because they are the same sex.

Hopefully Nest Anni will pop by and give you her perspective.
I'm not answering for "the LGBT community," but my understanding is that this board was created because it was requested by people who post on The Bump and who wanted a place to discuss the issues unique to LGBT couples looking to have a baby/ adopt/ foster/ parent.
I don't think the intent is to make sure that we are sequestered in our own little corner of The Bump, though.

Love this. I may develop a crush on you myself if you keep this up.
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
We received a couple of email requests for this board, and then checked in on the SSH board on The Nest to make sure there was enough interest in having one.
Groomz, I do think you may be Knot Annie's favorite Knottie!
well i do think it would be nice if you had an exercise board. it would go well with your summer shape up challenge, and get all that 30 day shred crap off the boards. lots of people have been requesting this.
come on... please?

Requested by glbt nesties/bumpies as a place to discuss our unique (and of course some not-so-unique) issues.

I didn't feel like we were asked to verify that there was interest in having one.
Do we have your permission to be here now? I'll let you play with my Pocket Evel Knievel.
