Advice for 1st roadtrip needed plz!

Hey ladies!  We are traveling with our DS on Memorial Day weekend.  It's about a 6-7 hour drive.  And we've never taken him on a long trip.  He is two months old.  I guess the thing I am worried about is messing up what little of a schedule he is on!  Any tips and advice, what to bring, etc?  TIA!!

    I'm taking DD on her first long car trip Memorial Day weekend also. For us though, it's only about 2 1/2 hours. I'd say you'll probably want to make frequent rest stops along the way.

    just plan on a lot of stops for feedings, changes, etc.  I wouldn't worry about messing up the 'schedule'...you'll get back on track when you get home.

    We went on a 12 hour car ride when DS was almost 3 months old.  We left at night after his bedtime routine hoping he would sleep most of the way - but that did not happen.  On the way there he woud wake up every two hours.  We would stop at a gas station and I would nurse him.  Then he would sleep for the next 2 hours and we'd repeat.

    We decided to do the same thing on the way home - because it wasn't too bad briefly stopping every 2 hours.  Unfortunately he did not do the same thing.  He only slept for a total of 5 hours!  It was horrible. 

    I'd recommend making many stops.  Take DS out of the car and walk around.  Sitting in the back might help if he can see you.  Maybe bring a glowing musical toy he can look at.
