    I'm not surprised but it is sad. I just think that family was in the public eye for WAY too long! I am sure that it has been hard for them to live so publicly but it was their (Jon & Kate, not the kids) choice. I will be happy when their show is done and those kids can try to live as "normal" a life as possible.

    I'm not huge fans of the family, but I was really rooting for their marriage.  Where did you hear they're breaking up?

    Okay, that was the headline on AOL ("officially split"), but the linked article makes it seem more like a maybe??

    Too funny - so AOL has already updated the headline to "Kate CONSIDERING split from Jon."  Sheesh!

    For all of their "communication issues," I really did think that their's was a loving marriage built on a pretty solid foundation of Christian values....and their kiddos are just the cutest!  I just always hate to hear something like this, especially when children are involved.

    As much as I loved laughing at them on The Soup, this makes me really sad too.  I hope they can get out of the public eye and work it out.  I can't understand why anyone would choose to live that life.

    i don't know if kate is the same irl as she is on tv, but it always seems like she's a bully towards jon. i'm not surprised they're having problems. it's so sad with all those kids involved. i wouldnt be surprised if she continues with the show even if they do split.

    I have never seen the show - what it is about. Did they have 8 kids at all different times or is this a fertility thing where it was only a few pregnancies but at least a couple of kids with each pregnancy?

    They had twin girls and then sextuplets--three girls and three boys.  I believe the older ones are 8 and the younger ones are about to turn 5?  Kate is known for being "honest and real" on the show, but many times it could be seen as bullying her husband.

    I think they would have been MUCH better off getting out of the limelight a long time ago. I think they brought this on themselves. Now they have a lot of money, a beautiful house, and fame...and they're splitting. So much for having it all.

    Honest and real?  More like ball buster.  My husband would never stand for me talking to him the way Kate talks to Jon, and I wouldn't want to be that kind of wife anyhow.  She's so disrespectful and has no idea how to treat a man.  To me she is not a great model of a Christian wife.

    Just for the record, I in no way meant to condone Kate's treatment of Jon.  I think she's a total you-know-what to him.  Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough.  :)  (Although Jon could stand to grow a pair and defend himself more often.)

    I have to say that Chuck and I think the show is funny and the boys like to watch it too. I thought that after the kids were a bit older and it was a bit less chaotic they (Jon and Kate) would be good together, maybe Kate would calm down a bit, the stress would lessen, ect.I just think it's sad for the kids. I would hate seeing my dad on tabloids accused of cheating and such. True or not, it has to be embarrassing for all of them.

    I couldn't agree more, Jessica!  We watch the show, every week.  Yes, she is more than a bit direct and can certainly be naggy towards her husband; but I would HATE to think how I would be portrayed (at times) if my life was being filmed while I was raising 8 kids under the age of 8.  :o)  Granted, they "made their bed;" but I really do think that they have tried to do what is best for the children.  Inviting a camera crew into their home was a trade-off for allowing both of them to be home and greatly involved in the day-to-day care of their children.  Call me crazy; but I have to say, I might accept the same trade-off.
