I have to go twice a year for a pap (one annual, one checkup) as I have had probs w/cervical precancerous scares (had 2 colpoys and one LEEP) and so they have to monitor me. This was the basic pap appt and we were to talk more about TTC.
He gave me 2 options - wait til the next 6 mo visit (in the fall) and if I'm not pregnant by then, then take a more aggressive route w/him. Or start the more aggressive approach now (as he knows I'm going to be 35 this year and DH will be 40). I told him I wanted to do more aggressive now. So DH will undergo some prelim testing and then I'll meet w/dr again. From there he'll be able to tell more if we should do anything for now.
Nothing monumental, but just thought I'd share. He was also glad I haven't had ONE migraine at all since getting off BCP and after a pregnancy we'd re-evaulate that situation.......
Re: went to OB/GYN yesterday
We've only been trying for one cycle, so it was an early appt (in the process) but it was already scheduled. I've just been off BCP since end of Dec. I'm realistic though and know it could take a while.
I'm not charting (yet) as I wanted to try and if we had probs then I'd chart. I feel knowledgable and have TCOYF, so if need be, will go that route.
Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
DH would be tested for several things so we could be proactive in the event there is an issue. He said he can do all the testing to me and evaluate me as his patient but he would need to know both sides (male and female) before being able to review effectively. He said that infertility is 40% of the time female, 40% male, 10% both male and female and 10% no explanation. If he has all the info ahead of time he can help and if need be send us to a specialist.
Again, this is his aggressive approach he would normally do for 6-12 months of trying, but we are older and wanted to begin this now. And he did mention its early but at least we'd know more.
