DD has started teething- she is SO MISERABLE! I have tried many different types of teething rings, carrots, cold bottles, and I just gave her a little tylenol because she is so miserable this morning. PLEASE! Any advice from moms of older babies who have been through this will be so much appreciated! What helped your LO feel better? And how long will this last? TIA!

Re: Teething HELP! Suggestions please!
Marino has been teething since December and just cut a tooth last week, so I am sort an expert
I'm hoping they don't all take that long and hopefully Charden doesn't take 5 months of teething to get 1 tooth! The first 2 weeks he was miserable and wouldn't sleep, eat, etc. We gave him Tylenol twice a day. After that, he seemed to get used to it. He still did and does chew on everything possible and drools like a mad man but he didn't seem in constant discomfort until last week. We've been doing Tylenol at night again and letting him sleep with us (otherwise he won't sleep at all). The Baby Orajel works for us sometimes (depending on how drooly he is at the time, he is a very drooly guy).
Wet washcloths help (just let her chew on it). The toys you put in the fridge never worked for us. But the #1 best thing in the world for us was Sophie the Giraffe. Marino LOVES Sophie. He carries her around everywhere and chews on her literally all day. When he comes to daycare, they say "Hi Marino! Hi Sophie!" She is his favorite thing in the world. She's very soft, so chewing on her feels better, I guess, than his other toys. She is sort of pricey (I got her on amazon for $19) but even if he stopped using her today, she was well worth the money! Best teething toy ever!
I have heard that about Sophie and plan to get her the next time around. For Ryan we used teething tablets, baby orajel, cold wet wash cloths and the fridge toys. With his first teeth (they all have come in 2s so far) we did not use any tylenol but with the next 2 sets, we have used it on the worst nights (usually the 2-3 before the tooth breaks through) and we just knew it was bad because he was waking up every 2-3 hours and his cry was a painful one rather than just a Mommy come get me one
Really nothing worked for very long. All of the above seemed to help for an hour or so at a time. The tylenol would help him to sleep for more like 4-5 hours. I just did a lot more holding and cuddling and kept singing the "It won't be like this for long" Darius Rucker song in my head
Good Luck!
We put Brendans pacifiers in the freezer. ?My friend suggested freezing a washcloth or berries for him to gum around. ??
All the teething rings sold in stores are too bit for Brendans preemie mouth..so frustrating! ?
We put Sophie in the fridge sometimes, too.
Its funny b/c my pedi said definately not to use teething tablets b/c of the belladonna. She's usually not the type to worry about much but when I called and said he was teething the first thing she said was "no teething tablets"
