Started a weight loss blog

I hate to admit it, but I pretty much gained back all the weight I lost last Fall.  Blah.  So DH and I gave in and joined a gym (which we LOVE) and we're both trying to lose about 20 lbs.  I've created a blog to help me track my efforts.  Here's the link if anyone is interested: https://donut-holes.blogspot.com/

  • That is fantastic!  How do you do it though?  How do you go to the gym with Nate?  I would love to start going to the gym again, especially with DH, but it's just so hard to find the time.

  • Mikey, since I telecommute, I drop him off at daycare and go workout before work.  Honestly, I haven't even showered yet this morning!  Yuck.  Once I get off my conference call, I'll hop in and take a 10-minute break (shower).  :P

    On Monday I had to go to campus, so I did weights before I went into campus and then after work DH got Nate from daycare and I went to the gym to run.  Luckily the gym is just 5 mins from our house and from Nate's daycare.

    Our gym also has childcare, so if necessary, I could go work out after work or on the weekends & take Nate while I work out.

    I forgot that you telecommute.  I guess that makes things easier.  I could work out before work, but I'd have to drop Eli off much earlier, and I just hate to do that.  He's already there too long as it is.  The same goes for after work, I could take him and put him in childcare there, but I get to see him so little in the evenings I don't want to do that.  I know those are just excuses though.  I'm just not willing to lose time with him in order to work out.  I could go after he goes to bed, but I'm just too tired by that point!  I really just need to do something at home, but I do so much better at the gym.  Oh well, all these excuses aren't making me any thinner!  I wish you the best of luck and even though I haven't made any progress on my blog, I'll be sure to check in on yours!

  • Ditto everything you said MrsMikey!  I desperately not only want to lose 10lbs but to also firm up!  My muscles said good-bye to me a long time ago.  I'm just so tired in the morning and at night.  Plus, I don't want to work out when DS is awake because I'd rather spend time with him.  I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and work out when he goes to bed at night.  Maybe having a "hot" body will make up for lack of sleep??  

    ECU, keep up the good work.  Your blog will definitely inspire me!  And hey, I'm impressed with the loss of 1lb!

    I have decided to give WW a try and I'll hopefully start using the fitness on demand channel at home to get some exercise in. I desperately need to lose at least 20 pounds- but more than that I really need some muscle. All my weight is fat!

  • Yay!!!! I love keeping up with everyones progress....it keeps me motivated to see everyone else getting in gear. Bc honestly my life gets in the way so much lately! Esp now that AT is mobile.

    I would love it if you linked me, Im linking yours. I love reading about Nate but I know how it can be hard to keep the 2 sep. That is why I keep up my own blog and completely sep from ATs bc I want an outlet that my IL arent linked to too you know?

  • That is great!  Maybe you ladies can inspire me too.  I desperately need to start working out again.  I too have gained weight since my post-baby weight loss :(  We don't have any $ in the budget right now for a gym, and I'm struggling to find time around the house to work out.  I really should during his morning nap, I guess, but I usually shower while DH is still here in the mornings, so if I worked out during his nap, I don't know when I would find time to shower.  Excuses, excuses, I know.

  • Yes, we were in Jamaica.  :)  We are big fans of Red Stripe anyway.  I probably gained 10 lbs on my honeymoon thanks to all the beer & pina coladas!
  • I linked to your blog - as soon as I get the okay I plan to start the major workout (I've got about 45 lbs. to lose to get back to PP - WOWZA!!)  Any motivation will be wonderful!

    Did I mention that I hate exercise!  With a passion!  Ugh!  Good luck - it's wonderful that you have your DH working out too.  When I'm ready, my DH plans to work out too so we'll be in the same boat as y'all.  You both have the same goal in mind which will really help you both stay on track!
