Vent on Docs office

I feel better already because before writing this post I read everyone else's and alot of them cheered me up a little. My OB's office is so not personal and just very frustrating at times. It's hard to get them to do anything for me without it taking freakin days to do it. Like today I went to get more prenatal vitamins at TOP FOODS and the pharmacist was telling me how they are having this promotion 3 months supply of their generic brand for free with a docs signature saying its ok for me to have them. Basically the girl that answers the phone at my docs office was like well we can try to get back to you when the doctor is available to do it. WHAT? All she has to do is sign a freakin square piece of paper!!! She's also not the only OB there so it pisses me off that its not even worth my time to wait. I don't want to go without prenatal vitamins for a while because they just throw a message up on a board because its not important to them. They always seem to find a way to say this isn't important. Also I don't live very close to them and I have to be near there tomorrow anyways for a dentist appnt and I told her I didnt think it would even be worth my time to waste gas back and forth if they couldn't have someone write it tomorrow. Only when i got upset did she say I could call Top foods and get their fax number and she would let me know when they faxed it over. :::sighhhhhh:::: cant wait to switch over to the Swedish clinic on the 18th! ::::Vent over::::

Is there a reason that you have to be on Prescription Prenatals?? I just used the QFC brand and other women on her use the Target brand. Over the counter brands are just as good. You may want to look into using OTC prenatals. You have to be on them for three months after quitting breastfeeding (if you are breastfeeding ;)) and you don't want to deal with this crap for that long.

Other than that, this is not the time for you to be unhappy with your healthcare. I am glad you are switching to Swedish. I had the greatest team of healthcare providers at Group Health and Overlake. I think that I might have gone postal if I was dealing with your situation. Hang in there, there are great Docs out there. Swedish is supposed to be a great hospital!!

Im not on prescription pre-natals. Top foods is having a promotion and they offered to give me 3 months free if i could have my clinic right a note saying its ok for them to give them to me thats all and it would save me on buying 3 months supply. But if I can;t get them to cooperate then its not even worth my time and I can go pay 8-10 bucks for them and be done with it. I didnt think it would be so difficult.

  • I have Target brand pre-natals and they're like 200 pills in a bottle so I only have to buy one every 6 months'ish or so. You shouldn't have to buy them every month... That's crazy! And Target ones are like 5 or 6 bucks!

  •  at least it wasn't an emergency... you might never get them to do anything!  I was exposed to shingles 2 weeks before I was due and called my dr and it took them 8 hours and 2 phone calls later to call me back, when they did call me back she said "Oh you should have been in here immediately today to have blood drawn!"  Um I did...8 hours ago!  Which is why I won't be going back to them next baby!
