Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I thought I had at least another month & a half..

DH & I think DD is teething.  Within the past week, she's started drooling like crazy and every chance she gets, she puts her hands in her mouth.  At first, I thought it was just one of those developmental things.

DH has been home with her and says she's been super fussy and wont stay down for a nap.  She's got no interest in her pacifier.  He said yesterday she was sitting in her bumbo and she grabbed his finger, put it in her mouth & started chomping down.  He said after that, she was just as happy as can be.  He started feeling around and said her bottom gum felt a little swollen, like there was a little bump.  I tried and didnt feel anything.  He told me to go over to the side, like where your eye teeth are.  Sure enough, I felt it.  I tried to look in her mouth but that was nearly impossible.

Could she be teething already?  She's just turned 3 months!  I was not prepared for this so early.  I thought I had at least another month.

Any suggestions on what might make her feel better?  Ive heard about those teething tablets..do they work?  How long does it usually take to cut a tooth?

  • Absolutely.  DD started at 2 1/2 months.

  • I'm actually wondering the same thing w/ DS.  He has become a FAUCET in the past couple days and his sleep routine has been off kilter for a few days.

  • If it is any consolation, I think my dd is doing this as well.

    Good luck to you!

Ditto this for DD.  She was sleeping all night, now we're lucky if we're getting 4 hrs straight from her.

  • I have no advice, but wanted to say "Cute sunglasses"Cool
  • I'm sure it's teething.  DD began at like 2 months on and off and by 4 months she had her 2 front bottom teeth. I would give some tylenol.  We have the teething tablets too and usually I give those first but I still will give DD tylenol because I'm not so sure the tablets work and even if they do, they only do for a short time.
