AngelCare Movement Monitor - question

I looked into the AngelCare Movement Monitor that was mentioned below and have a (probably dumb) question. Does this take the place of a regular monitor, or do you need both? Thanks!

    You could just use this but we wanted a video monitor as well :) Which is totally unnecessary

    No you woulnd't need a regular monitor. It does sound too and once the baby starts move around you can disconnect the movement pad to use it just as a monitor.
