Etiquette question

So I'm putting together all of the baby shower hostess gifts at the end of this week. My question is: should I put a thank you note in their gift bags or wait until after to send a note? Or should I put one in the bag AND send one after? I don't mind doing both, but I don't want it to seem like overkill.

TIA!

Re: Etiquette question

  • I'd send a TY afterward - that way you can comment on how lovely the shower was, thank them for the specific gifts they got you, etc.

I gave my hostess gifts without cards, FWIW.

  • I would put one in with the gift...that's what I'm gonna do! There's no need to send one afterwards as well.

This is what I did as well.

I would send the thank you note afterward, but I would include just a small note (one or two lines) in with their gift.

I did this. I included a small note with the gift and then one later for the gifts and specifics of the shower.

  • I did both -- a thank you note with the gift for having the shower and another note afterwards thanking them for the gift and reiterating how lovely the shower was.
