When in your cycle do you start using opk's? I'm not temping, and I don't think I got a +opk last cycle...the line was as dark as the control, but not near as thick. I was using the Answer brand and I keep hearing that they are crap so I have CBE and FR now.
Re: OPK users come in...
I used the Target brand & had good luck with those. It included a chart based on your cycle length as to what day you should start using them in your cycle. My cycles varied from 26-33 days (typically 26-28) so I followed the 26 day "rule."
If it helps at all, the cycle prior to my BFP I got a + that the line was only "half dark"...if that makes sense?
I used to use Answer OPK sticks, I never had a prob with them. I think they say as long as its as DARK as control line its positive, I don't think width matters? Maybe I'm wrong.
But they have worked for me, And I've gotten very noticiable ones from them. Here is a example of one I got last cycle (not BFP one)
My BFP cylcle I ordered some from https://www.babywishes.org/OvulationTests.html
I ordered the ones that say: EZ Ovulation (LH) Predictor Midstream Tests (Easy to read results!! No need to compare lines!! Simple...two lines positive...one line negative!!)
And on those I got one that was kinda as dark as the control, but it was only the outside edge, but since it said a line is a line for this brand I counted it as a +. I only got 2 somewhat lines on those, and both counted as +.
FWIW, OPK's are useless without temping. OPKs tell you that your body is gearing up to O, but your body could decide not to O or to O later.
They only work as a 3rd sign in addition to charting.
I used them once I started seeing fertile CM.
EDIT: I also tested at 1pm and 5pm and discovered my surge was always present at 1pm but not 5pm.
If I had a cheapie OPK that looked almost positive or positive I backed it up with a CBE Digital OPK to be sure.
it's called a kilt, he's scottish
Ooh, that's a great idea. I'm going to use OPKs this cycle and I think I'll try that.

First ovulatory cycle I used internet strips and didn't catch my surge at all. Last cycle I started using the saliva scope and then used OPKs once I saw partial ferning. I don't get much fertile CM, so the saliva scope helped me save tests. Not sure if that will continue to work, I have full ferning today and I am only on cd7.
