uh, yeah, I was wondering if I should warn DH since he's planning on being present for that appointment... wth, it's not the worst thing he's going to see before this is over.
It really is not that bad. I did not have it with my son since my urine had group b strep at the 1st appt. I thought it would be terrible this time, and I also had my two yr old with me. Its weird, but not bad.
for me the internal hurt more than the GBS! The test felt like a pap smear, just not as cold.
Ditto. They didn't tell me that I had my GBS test until I got to the appt., I was worried about it, but it wasn't that uncomfortable, I was more uncomfortable with my first internal.

Honestly, I get internals at each visit and if my doc hadn't warned me that they were doing the GBS test a couple of visits back, I probably wouldn't have known: sounds gross, but IMO, no biggie.
My m/w Friday said that the GBS test doesn't go IN, just around the edge of the 2 openings.
My m/ws also won't do internals until after 40 weeks, and then only at my request if we start talking induction, which they wait for me to request unless it gets into the "danger" zone of being overdue.

Hehe. I had my daughter with me and she said "are they looking at your butt Mommy". I said "yes and poking it". lol
Good luck at your appt!
