3rd Trimester

What did you get the most of at your shower?

Were you surprised by anything you didn't get any of?

I got 14 bibs at my shower and of course tons of girl clothes.

I was surprised I didn't any hooded towels or receiving blankets.  I was told I'd get a ton of them.

Re: What did you get the most of at your shower?

  • Lots of clothes, of course.  I didn't get any receiving blankets either.  I also thought I'd end up getting a lot of diapers, but none...which I'm glad since we are cloth diapering.

  • We received a lot of blankets and diapers. No complaints here! I thought we would get a lot of girl clothes but we didn't. Thank goodness because her closet and dresser were full prior to the shower :)
  • Blankets and receiving blankets-tons!
  • I haven't had my shower yet, one of the towels off of my registry has been bought (and the robe and wash clothes that match YAY)  Just thought I'd share :-)

Plus, I am not sure if all Marc's carry the same thing, but I went to Marc's with my mom yesterday and got a towel and wash cloth set for $.99.  And it was really nice for a baby towel and washcloth.  So if you are in need of this and you have a Marc's, check it out.

  • We got tons of clothes but they were all 0-3 months.  We also got a lot of handmade blankets and quilts which was really nice.  I was surprised because we got no receiving blankets which I was told we would get lots of.

  • I got a ton of clothes and stuffed animals. I was really surprised that I didn't get any bottles or feeding supplies or anything like a bouncer or play mat.

  • We got onesies out the wazoo. And all NB size, only a few that are 3m+. (Probably not a good idea, since apparently this baby will be born around 9 lbs, so who knows how long he/she will be in that size.)

We got no cloth diapers, even though we had registered for them and had really 'spread the word' that's what we were doing. I'm not complaining because overall people were generous- I was just surprised.

I got a ton of clothes.  It was really ridiculous.  I was surprised that I didn't get a Diaper Genie.  I figured that would be an easy gift.
    I HAVE CHILDREN.
  • I got a TON of 0-3 clothes, but no diapers at one shower and tons of diapers and no clothes at another!

The only things we're having to really get on our own are some of the smaller, boring items people didn't want to give, like the drying rack, and a few bigger items, like the jumper and carrier.

  • Newborn clothes, bibs, teethers/rattles, receiving blankets and hooded towns... and baby blankets of all materials and thicknesses.
  • tons of diapers and sweet little baby girl clothes. :)
  • Clothes! Lots and lots of clothes. And I guess second would be blankets, wash clothes, etc.
  • I had my second (and last) shower yesterday.  I felt that I got a really good mixture of things.  We got some really nice blankets - crocheted, fuzzy, etc.  Most people bought something off the registry and then an outfit, so we did get a lof of clothes.  We got quite a few gift cards so the things that we didn't get DH and I went to Target and got today - our out of pocket was $25.  I was very happy with our gifts!
  • SOCKS out the a$$! And homemade blankets and sweaters. Got a bunch of clothes, but they are all in different sizes. Hopefully we will make out better with the "essentials" at my next shower.

  • Car seats. We got two and a gift card to buy one. Registry fvck up extraordinaire.?

Aside from that ... not a lot of any one thing. One bath set with washcloths and one bib. One set of towels that we registered for. Very few clothing items. Absolutely nothing of the standard "you'll get a ton of ___".?

  • I've had all four of my showers now, and am completely overwhelmed by the amount of clothes we got for our LO. We also got somewhere around 30 blankets.

I really didn't get many burp cloths or newborn size clothes, which I thought I'd get a bunch of.

  • Barely any clothes, that really surprised me.  Money and gift cards is what we mostly got :)...and blankets galore. People gave us something little plus a card (with the money).  Best present EVER!  DH and I haven't had to buy much out of our own pocket thanks to that, we went out and picked up the stuff we needed and really wanted of what we didn't receive.  We will have to really go splurging once baby outgrows his 0-3 month clothing though, we only have a couple outfits and want to see what season he'll be wearing them in before getting them.

We had about 50 people...so a pretty big crowd.  We got about 10 packages of diapers, about 6 packages of wipes, 10-15 outfits/onesies, receiving blankets, our travel system, high chair, glider, our lightweight stroller, some bibs, a few things of pacifiers, and some other little things.

  • Believe it or not I got a ton of picture frames and clothes.  One package of diapars and no recieving blankets.  I got the travel system and mattress for the crib.  So now I can afford blankets myself.

  • out of 2 showers we got lots of burp rags (cloth diapers), receiving blankets, hooded towels, 0-3  clothes, 15 lg boxes of wipes, and diapers (2 packages of NB, 2 size 1s, 2 boxes of 2's and a packages of 3's.  We got 4 dishwasher caddies (and still had to manually update the registry saying we got it), lots of grooming kits, 3 binkie thermometers, and 2 of the high chair booster seats we registered for.

We ended up taking the 3 extra dishwasher caddies back, and regifted some other things, but am taking advantage of the the other extras.  My mom is our babysitter, so I sent half the burp rags, the extra bouncer, part of the receiving blankets and one of the thermometers over to her house.  The extra booster I will either send to my MIL's or keep in case we end up with 2 babies back to back.

  • We just had our shower and I was very proud of everyone for shopping off of the registry!

I thought that we would get a ton of clothes, but we only got a few things in each size.

  • We just had the shower saturday. ?We got a lot of receiving blankets and washclothes, as well as a bunch of books (which is great because we want to start reading to the baby pretty early). ?People bought a lot off the registry, which was nice. ?We were registered at BRU and amazon.com, so people had the option of buying things at a better price online (plus shipping) or buying in person in BRU, which made it easier to buy presents for some (at least thats what we're told)

  • I got tons of onesies and receiving blankets/blankets. I have another shower (church shower) in 3 weeks and I am excited to see if what I receive differs from my family shower.
