Parenting after a Loss

My parents are picking up DHs slack

DH isn't doing anything for Mothers Day. Won't even go to church with my parents (We can't really afford to get mom anything decent and she always likes to go to church as a family. I don't like their church, but I can go one Sunday to make mom happy. Can DH? no.) He keeps asking me what I want and then telling me "no" when I ask for a massage or a clean house. Jerk. We can't afford for you to buy me anything, yet you refuse to do the things I need done that you should already be helping with anyway! Ugh.

So Mom & Dad are getting me a Moby Wrap and keep throwing all this other stuff out there too (new car battery, brunch, crunchy clean -- my fave laundry detergent, etc).

He's pissing me off. It's my freaking day, On fathers day he can do whatever the heck he wants to.

  • Wow, he won't even clean the house? Hell, I expect Mr. Skat to do that every other week, not just Mother's Day!

Sounds like your DH needs a bit of a kick in the pants.  You should at least get a neck rub and some pancakes.
