Someone suggested I get this (we currently have just a generic thermometer and it sucks) and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this thermometer?

is that the one that is like 50 bucks and you roll it across their forheads.. if so it sucks major balls! I bought it and returned it w/in two days. I never could get a correct reading from it.
my pedis use it and I have noticed on sick appts they will have a "normal" or only elevated temp reading when I got a higher one only 30 mins early doing a rectal temp.
I just bought a 10 second digital therm from walgreens and it works great, I think it was less than 10 bucks. and I have my reading in 10 seconds, i think they had an 8 sec one, but it was 5 bucks more, I figured I could wait 2 extra seconds.

Both boys were born w/ hirschsprung's disease, you find yourself facing this dx, please feel free to ask me any questions.
We have one and love it. We got it at Walgreen's for only $35. If you can try going to Sam's Club, or Costco, because they had it for only $25. I can't remember which one we saw it at though, sorry.
We got ours at sams for $25 and love it. We took DS's temp all the time after we came home from the nicu since they took it 8 times a day there. We initially took it with the niuc thermometers they gave us and the exergen and always got the same thing. Then we just used the exergen and it was way faster and easier. now we LOVE it!
