Are you afraid of thunder?

It was thundering here a little bit ago and I don't mind thunder, I just don't like lightning.  Teagan is in this new stage where thunder scares her and bugs, etc.  She just shakes with even the littlest bit of thunder, and I feel so bad for her.

Re: Are you afraid of thunder?

  • when i was little thunder (and fire sirens/tornado sirens/fire alarms in the house) would scare the living crap out of me.  i would "hit the deck" immediately. or if i heard sirens in the night i would shake and cry in my bed.

I think I was the same way with lightning when I was a kid.  I remember running into my parent's room.

  • Poor Teagan! I remember that when I was little, my dad always said that thunder was really just God bowling. The louder it got, means it was a strike. Lol. I think thats why it never scared me. I LOVE thunderstorms now.

  • When I was a kid I used to hide in the closet during thunderstorms.... I would camp out blanket, pillow and all... all night if I had to! ?Still as an adult, some storms still really scare me (I don't hide any more!!).... I hope I didn't pass this on to Keelan!
  • I've always loved storms, even as a little kid.  I've never been a good sleeper but storms are such good background noise for deep sleep.
