I found this beautiful poem and framed it with a picture of me and DD and her and me when I was only a few weeks old. I gave it to DH to send out for me and he apparently put it in a "thick envelope" (no bubble wrap) and just sent it out. Needless to say my mom received it today. A pile of glass at the bottom of the envelope and the whole picture inside scratched from the glass. Lovely. I am going to resend the picture and she is going to get some glass from an extra frame.
But dear God. An envelope! His excuse was that he had it stamped "fragile" ......
Re: DH ruined my mom's mothers day present
"His excuse was that he had it stamped "fragile" ...... "
LOL...that is too funny... I am sure she still loved the thought of it though
I"m sorry. At least your mom knows you tried to get her the gift on time.
I remember you posting the poem a while ago, and I wanted to save the post, but I looked back the other day and couldn't find it (I post too much!). If you can, would you mind posting it again?
Until I became a Mother,
I did not understand,
The profound sense of love,
In a Mother's heart and hands.
As I whisper, "Mommy loves you",
I rock my precious child to sleep.
Small perfection in my arms,
Sweet breaths, slow and deep.
I now see me as a baby,
You?re rocking me to sleep.
You whisper ?Mommy loves you,
my heart is yours to keep."
At last I recognize your love,
As a Mother I now see.
As I hold and love my child,
You feel that love for me.
I will always be your baby,
Despite the years that pass.
You have given me my life,
And a Mother's heart to last.
The greatest thanks I can offer,
More than words can ever say.
Is to give my child the love,
You gave me everyday.
