So I just came back from lunch and I was in the elevator with 2 black dudes and an older white woman. She goes "don't forget to wish the women in your life a happy mother's day, or rather yo baby's momma." WTF. Umm if she had known either one of them she would have known that one of them is married and has 2 daughters, so suffice to say he does not have a "baby momma."
I'm sure she thought she was being cute/funny and didn't intend to say some ignit racist shiite but I really can't imagine she would have said that to two white men standing there. And trying to explain that to my co-worker is a whole nother issue.
Re: She did not just say that.
That's so rude!
ETA: And racist. People continue to amaze me.
No no, she isn't my co-worker. But when I cam back into the office I had a look on my face that said WTF and I told my co-worker what just happened. She went on to inform me that I shouldn't assume it was racist and she probably would have said that to anyone.
