For some reason I can't write on my MIL's wall. There just isn't that spot there, like there is in everyone else's profile. She doesn't have any wall postings from anyone - but I can see all the stuff she posted, as well as people's comments on that.

Does she have her account set up somehow for people to not be able to post things on her wall? I can't imagine she has me (and DH, it's the same for him) on some special privacy setting, she only has like 20 friends and most of them are family members.

    My cousin has his set up the same way and I can't figure it out either.  It is the strangest thing.  I can see where he has responded to someone, but I can't see what the other person said to him.

    I have done that in my settings for some people that I don't want to see all my wall postings and I even set it so some people can't see my status updates. You have to go into settings to do this. I had an issue with someone at my work who saw a status update of mine and called my boss to complain on a weekend. I got an awkward call from my boss about it. Very weird. That was a wake up to get fix my settings and update my friend list with co-workers since I keep my fb all personal anyways and not work related.

     I am not saying your MIL has done that, maybe she hit something in the settings accidentally that is preventing people from writing on her wall?

    Wow, seriously? Someone who was on your facebook friends list (so I assume you were at least on pleasant terms with) called your boss to complain about something they saw on your facebook over the weekend! What a jerk!

    Anyway, that's interesting...can those people you blocked from seeing your wall posts still write on your wall? I can see MIL's status updates and everything she posts. It just really strange, and it's kind of bugging me because I want to write a quick note thanking her for my b-day present but I don't want to send it in a message or e-mail because then she'll write me back a whole big e-mail with a bunch of questions, and start a back and forth conversation that I just don't feel like having...I'm a bad DIL, I know....

    I have a friend whose page is like that too.  I'm pretty sure she didn't block me or anything since I just hung out with her last week.  I was wondering why I couldn't write on her wall.

    Don't know, but I have a friend whose profile is like that too.

    I can see everything, but I can't write on his wall. I'll have to ask him.

    there's a setting where you can completely disable your wall so no one can write on it

    okay..if you go to settings up at the top..then privacy..then profile...scroll down and there is a box you can check/uncheck that says friends may post to my wall
