where and how storing DC's stuff

We're getting ready to put some of Scott's things up since he's outgrown them--like his bumbo, bouncy seat, swing, infant car seat, etc. ?Where and how are you storing this type of stuff? ?I was planning to clean everything and then store in the attic but then got to thinking that some of the stuff that is plastic might not be so good in the attic? ?If we have more kids it won't be until Scott is probably about 3 years old--so it would be in storage for at least 2 years. What are you doing?

Re: where and how storing DC's stuff

  • We have cubbies in the upstairs rooms, basically unfinished space behind the walls.  So it's pretty much the same environment as an attic.  We have everything stored in Eli's cubby.  I know the heat isn't good for plastic, but that's pretty much our only option.  We do have a basement, but there is no room for that stuff down there.

  • I'm facing the same dilemma...for now we are keeping things in the garage.  Ideally I would like to store them in the attic,(as our garage is getting very messy!) but am concerned about the heat affecting them as well...We will not be having another child for at least 2 years, so I cannot give any of it away yet...
  • Fortunately we had the "spare bedroom" that would become baby # 2's nursery, so we just tossed everything in there. Once we were pregnant with # 2, I started organizing it a bit better. But it all stayed in her room.

  • We don't have much attic space so ours is actually in my parent's attic. We didn't really have a choice... it was starting to take over our house!
  • Ours is in the attic.  We didn't have any other place to put it.

  • In the attic.  I checked on it all about a month ago.  It all survived last summer pretty well.
