Getting a Mother's Day Gift from your mom?

Last year was my very first Mother's Day, and I didn't get anything from anybody except my DH.  It's not like I really care now, but I'm just wondering.  Is your own mother usually supposed to get you a present?   Or are you just supposed to buy your mother a present?  I'm confused... TIA!

  • Last year I got cards from my mom, step-mom and MIL.  We got them all flowers and cards.  This year because money is so tight we are just doing cards for all of them.  DH asked me what I wanted and I said nothing.  I am just happy with spending the day with him and DS.

  • My boss at work always buys his daughter a gift for Mother's Day which I think is adorable. My mom and dad didn't get me anything last year. However, my sisters did since we are all the "godmothers" of each others children.  So I got my sisters a little something ($10 or less) with a card.
