Hi, I see a lot of posts about cities around the Detroit area, but nothing really for the downriver communities: Taylor, Trenton, Brownstown, Woodhaven, Rockwood, etc. I was hoping someone could recommend a good OB, a hospital and, soon enough! a pediatrician. My husbanad and I just moved to MI a few months ago and the OB I am seeing now seems fine but maybe there is a superstar out there!? Any thoughts on Oakwood Southshore Hospital? That's the closest to our home. Thanks!
Re: Anyone in the downriver area?
Thanks everyone! Right now I am seeing Dr. Crain and Dr. Finazzo with Downriver OBGYN. They both seem great but who knows. If I stick with them I will be delivering at Oakwood Southshore. When you say the "main" Oakwood hospital- do you mean Southshore?
I'm due January 6th....only 7 weeks along now!
I have seen Dr. Gennaoui in Allen Park since I was 17 yrs old. I'm 33 now. A bunch of my friends have switched to him over the years too. His number is 313-386-3930. Dr. Wolfs office in Trenton is like the downriver hot spot of OB/GYN but I would never sit for hours upon hours waiting for my appt. Same thing with Dr. Lutsic. I'll be delivering at Oakwood Main as did all of my gf's that are nurses (6 of them) at Southshore. Almost everybody I know has delivered at Main or Wyandotte.
Main is in Dearborn. I grew up down the street from "Southshore" and I still call it Seaway Hospital. To be honest......I won't go there for anything. Not and ankle sprain and certainly not to deliver my baby.
Yep, I was referring to the Dearborn location.
I live in Brownstown/rockwood area. I see Dr. Alaiwat at Northline Women's Health Center. They have a southgate and Brownstown location. I go to the Southgate location. www.northlinewomenshealth.com
forgot to answer your other questions.....
My Dr. delivers out of the Wyandotte Henry Ford Hospital. I don't have a lot of experience with Oakwood Southshore Hospital. My Primary Care doctor has his office their, Dr. Jim Johnson, but I have never been in the hospital. I though they just had an emergency room and not a full hospital. But they recently did some additions so that may have changed.
Best of luck.
