how long is too long to sleep in car seat/swing?

DD is still sleeping in car seat at night. She naps for short periods in crib but when I need more than 1 hour of sleep we still have to put her in the car seat. She's over a month now, how long is too long? Should we just suffer it out and keep her in the crib till she gets used to it?

I was at a breastfeeding support group yesterday and a woman said her son slept in his carseat until he was five months old. She said the transition wasn't that bad to his crib, he seemed ready for it.

my little one naps in his swing four hours at a time sometimes and he loves it. he'll sleep in his crib at night but won't nap in it ever.

DS still sleeps in his bouncy at night and for naps. I tried the crib today coincidentally and he would only sleep in it 10 minutes. I hear they can sleep for up to 3 months in whatever they want and can get sleep in..

Honestly, I would just do what you want. If the car seat is working then stick with it unless you really want to start on the crib. I think as long as they are in the crib around 6 months then its fine. Of course this is just my personal opinion and my son slept in the crib from 2 weeks old. I think it really just depends on each kid, they are all so different,

DS slept in his swing at night until he was about 2 1/2 months. I would put him down in the crib, he would sleep for an hour at the most, then I would put him in the swing and I would get 4-6 hours. I got to keep my sanity!

The transition was not too bad, maybe a night or two before he was ok.

my 3mo old just went into crib after sleeping at night in bouncy seat. And, naps still in carseat.
