I've discovered the secret to flat abs...

I sound like one of those ads on the side bar of facebook; BUT...

I've figured it out...spending 8-12 minutes a day (not all at once, of COURSE) in the forearm plank position.  OMG, my c-section pooch is almost non-existent.  I am SO pumped.

Highly recommend!

  • REEEEAAALLLLYYYY????

*note to self* how long did it take to see results?

ETA: Do you do anything or just hold that position for a couple minutes then repeat? I've never done this position, but it looks easy-although I'm sure that's because I'm missing something.

  • oh, the plank. ?i hurt just thinking about it. ?LOL?

    good tip. ??

  • Jillian Michaels does this a ton in her videos on exercise TV.  Love the plank twists, those are my absolute fave.  Feel the burn!

  • I've been going to this 1x a week ab class since January, and it's helped, but in the last two weeks, without changing a THING with diet and exercise, it's virtually gone.  In fact, I am running less than I have been for the past few months...

    It's all about the planks.

  • I had to google what the hell that meant. I can probably only do 3 seconds at a time, that might take me a year.

  • LOL, I think in that position my belly would be supporting me like a yoga ball.

OMG, almost peed in my pants at that comment.

I have a love/hate relationship with planks. Thanks for giving me a reason to start doing them again.

  • Well, that sounds awesome, and I can't wait to try it after I have this baby... I miss having flat abs! :( I still swear by crunches on a body ball, too. Thanks for the tip!

  • Hellyeah.  My classes hate it so much when I torture them with planks, but they thank me later :)

  • This is going to sound dumb, but how long can you hold it for and about how many times?  Details, details....

It's taken me upping my workouts and adding in weights, but I've finally dropped an inch or so on my "baby pooch", but would love to see even more results.

    Thanks!

  • another thing that has helped me is tightening and doing pelvic tilts throughout the day. helped my posture and helped me with my running stride as well.
  • If we weren't friends I might slap you. But I love you and your fitness tips too much. You need to be making some money off of this!
