ouch! Pelvic pains - anybody in 3rd tri have this?

The last few days I have had pelvic discomfort and today and last night in the middle of the night it was more shooting pains. It's not lighnening crotch but more in my pelvic region. Is it safe to assume it's my pelvic muscles and stuff stretching?

Anybody else have this?

My little guy likes to punch me in the cervix which causes a sharp shooting pain up my vag... maybe that's what you are experiencing?

i definitely have some pelvic pressure now that my little guy has dropped.... not really shooting pains, though.

i'm sure there is LOTS of stretching going on now that our babies are growing so quickly!

I had all types of wierd pains down there the last 5-6 weeks of pregnancy. There is a lot of stuff happening to your body preparing for labor.

DM - we are SO tracking exactly the same!

For the last few nights I have had chronic pains in my pelvic area as well. I was nervous that it might be some sort of infection or something. And then I realized it could also be the baby getting heavier & things changing...right, why is that never the first thing I think of?

I'm guessing we're feeling more ligament pain & stretching as we get further along in prep for birth. That's what I've read so far anyway. But i'm SO glad someone else is having it too...I thought I might just be a wimp! I'm so hopeful it will stop & feel better, but I have a feeling it will be there from here on out...countdown is on!

I'm probably one of the worst on the boards to talk to about this. I had pressure starting around 32 weeks right at my pubic bone, it turned into significant pain a week after that. Now, I have pain in my sacrum/tail bone area that is even worse than the pubic pain....or I've just become use to the pubic pain...I'm not sure. However, baby just dropped within the past day.

I try using ice throughout the day if its really bothering me and my only other suggestion is seeing a chiropractor. Just make sure the chiropractor has experience with pg women.

PS You may want to invest in a maternity belt. It does help with some of the pressure (but def not all)!
