Beating a dead horse..but..

Am I the only one who somewhat is taking up for Kate Gosselin? I have seen practically ever show and I think they focus more on Kate being the bitchy one because people watch the show more if there is a good guy/bad guy character. Does she have a bad temper at times?..sure..but who doesnt especially with 8 kids. I don't see her personality changing overnight, I am sure she has had that personality since her and Jon got married.

People saying that they would have cheated on her too if they were Jon is just wrong in my eyes. They have been through alot and I am can not imagine being Kate right now with 8 kids and a husband possibly cheating on me on national TV. Was it a mistake to put your family on TV, probably so. I am sure they were thinking of the money aspect at first.

Please people have some compassion for what Kate is going through if all this is true. Bottom line: It's a TV show! Who is to say that behind the scenes Jon is not a complete Asssshole to Kate? I mean really!

    I completely agree with you Jav!  It would be hard to not go crazy at times with so much chaos in your life.

    I think that we are all silly to judge whether she is a good or bad person----b/c like you said-bottom line ITS a TV SHOW!

    I agree. Maybe they have it that way for the show and the ratings. Have one being bitchy and one being the victim.

    We need to remember that it's Reality TV. We're only seeing the reality that they want us to. I completely agree Jav. We have zero idea what their lives are really like. Their poor family..

    I agree 100% Its a tv show! There is tons we dont see that gets left on the editing room floor.

    And no one should judge her until they have 8 kids to raise.

    I agree.   Did anyone see her on the Today show this morn?  She looked so beat down and sad - and exhausted.  I feel really bad for her.

    I'm not a big fan of Kate, but there is no excuse for what Jon (probably) did.  If you want out of a relationship get out, don't cheat.

    I hear ya.  I feel bad for the wife/mother when a man looks outside the bonds of marriage for sex and/or romantic relationship.  I don't care how bad the marriage is, get a divorce before searching for 'happiness' with someone else.  I feel the same way when a woman goes outside her marriage for the same thing.  If you are done with your marriage get a divorce then go off on your merry way and look for someone new...why is that such a hard concept?

    I just can't fathom going on the Today show to talk about a subject like that, especially when there are children involved. And it makes no difference to me if it's Kate Gosselin or Elizabeth Edwards.

    I am right there with you.  I generally stick up for Kate because I can't imagine how I would be with 8 kids.  I know sometimes she is not the nicest to Jon, but I am not always nice to my husband either, it's just not caught on tv.  And yes, I smack my husband like that and it's not meant in a demeaning manner.  Usually when he says something sarcastic, I am known to smack him on the arm.  This does not make me a bad person, nor am I abusive. 

    I feel bad for her, true or not, this has got to be awful to go through.

    She really did.  and I really do too.  There is no way we "know" how the family really is. We only see such a small part, and the producers make it into what they want. 

    I think that Jon is an idiot if he cheated. Not because of who they are but because they are a FAMILY!

    Mean wife or not, he made a commitment of loyalty and broke it. (Actually made the commitment TWICE)

    I agree with you 100%, cheating is completely wrong in my eyes no matter the situation.They have EIGHT children... my gosh Jon, think about the damn kids.

    I feel bad for her. I cant imagine having something that hurtful and personal blasted all over the place. I also cant even watch the show because it stresses me out... I cant IMAGINE how she feels with that many kids and so much chaos. With her being on TV so much though, someone seriously needs to help that woman with her hair.

    I'm pretty sure she went on there to promote her new book not talk about the affair. The affair was "the elephant in the room".

    I have a hard time forming an opinion on this. The fact is that the show is edited to portray the family the way the studio wants it.  For we all we know there could have been major problems off camera that nobody knows about.

    I'm glad you said this because frankly as much as I think she can be bitchy - I've heard myself saying the same things to DH so am I not bitchy too?
    I actually idolize her organization skills. I think she would do anything for her children and so, in my eyes she's a wonderful mother.
    If Jon cheated on her he deserves a major a**kicking.
