Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What is your least favorite part of being a mom?

And I don't mean to get too serious here.

For example, mine is washing all the bottles, nipples and pump parts. We don't have a dishwasher (I know, we are crazy)....and I EBF and am still on maternity leave so its not like she is getting that many bottles- just one a night so DH can bond...Ugh! Its only going to get worse when I go back to work! More washing!

  • sleep deprivation. I didnt realize how much I loved sleep.

  • Just all the extra work. It was great when I was on mat leave but now I try to cram everything in that I use to do in an entire day into my evenings...not working!

  • I don't like washing bottles either (we do have dishwasher though but I still wash them by hand), and I don't like taking out the diaper garbage.
  • Sleep deprivation although I still enjoy being with her late at night when it's just the two of us and she's so snuggly when I'm feeding her. But sometimes when I hear her over the monitor I try to will her back to sleep.  Also, carrying the car seat carrier.  It's getting so heavy to lug around.
  • And I hate sucking boogers.  B always crys and it makes me feel bad even though I know that it is helping him breathe easier.

Kate screamed most of the day for the first 2.5 months.  It's just starting to get better.

  • I'd say the poopy diapers after feeding S fruits.. especially prunes.  Looks like prunes going in the baby and DEFINITELY looks like prunes coming out.  ICK!!!
  • I hear ya on the bottles.  We don't have a dishwasher either!  (call me crazy!)

My least favorite thing is how I weigh less now than pre pg and I wear a bigger size jeans and how my feet hurt after wearing 3 inch pumps after just an hour.  I am doing better with the lack of sleep than I thought I would.  And the stretch marks aren't so noticible anymore.  I am so used to washing bottles I don't think about it anymore.  When I get a new house with a dishwasher, I will still probably hand wash them...  Ok... probably not.

  • For me it's the crazy hormones. I had a crying fit last night cause she was screaming and crying for 20 minutes. It wasn't even that long, but I was so tired that I couldn't deal.

  • Sleeping in a bra every night. ?I love being able to breastfeed... but I can't wait to sleep in my birthday suit again!

The constant spit-up everywhere ... on everything ... I know I smell like it. I went out to dinner the other night with a shirt on that had puke down the back. Grrrr.
  • no sleep! and more alone time with DH
  • Whenever DD is awake, I want her asleep.  Whenever DD is asleep, I want to wake her up and play.  What a vicious cycle.

Oh this is a good one. I couldn't agree more.

  • I'm sick of washing bottles and we use Born Free (they have 8 billion pieces).  Oh, and we have a dishwasher, but I end up washing them by hand because we just don't need to run the dishwasher as often as we go through bottles (and I have about 10 bottles).  DS only gets BM, the bottles are from the sitter and when we go out......you'd think there wouldn't be that many....

i agree! also, i hate the fact that i never have a spare second during the day. rather than getting to step outside for a breath of fresh air a few times a day, i have to spend that time pumping. i'm happy to pump for him, and i can't imagine not doing it, but at the same time it just really makes my day kind of suck...

  • Lack of sleep... It's still really early, but I never knew how much I LOVED my sleep and how much it affects me when I do not get enough of it!!!

I lived for her first 3 days on only 4 hours total- but now that the adreaniline (sp?) has worn off, I'm exhausted!

  • Oh, and I hate bathtime. Hes so squirmy and slippery and now hes really heavy so lifting him out of the tub hurts my back. Plus, I have to mess with pulling back the skin on his penis to keep it from adhering (hes circumcized) and no one else will do it but me! People flat out refuse and it makes me so mad.

  • Pumping! This schedule is starting to get to me. I'm thinking of switchinh to formula after 4 weeks.
  • Getting up in the middle of the night!  Although it is mostly only 1 time at max 2 times but still I can't wait to be able to sleep straight through!
  • All of the bodily fluid... Yuck!

Never did I think I would just use my hand to catch drool or vomit so it doesn't land on our friends carpet..

At a friends house the other day, and I'm holding dd.  I was wearing a little cotton sleevless dress, and she throws up all over my chest, and throw up goes down into my bra.. ugh!!

  • My least favorite part is probably how guilty I feel when I take time away from her for personal things.  Now that I'm back to work, I feel like I should be spending every minute w/her and when I do things like go to book club, I end up feeling guilty.  I know I shouldn't but I can't help it.
