2nd Trimester

1st Tri with question

Hi Ladies- Sorry to invade your board but had a question for you guys.  I am 11 weeks in and all of my symptoms are one.  I had really bad morning sickness, sore boobs and a bloat that made me look like I was 5 months deep.  The m/s went away last week, my boobs are still big but not sore and then I woke up this am and my stomach is the flattest its been in weeks.  Is this normal?  I am kinda worried.  I have no cramping or blood- infact, I feel like my old self which worries me.  Did this happen to anyone?

Again- sorry for the invasion, would appreciate some feedback- do not see doc til next week and was planning on telling family this weekend.  Now I am nervous that something is wrong.  I do not feel preggers at all.

Thanks in advance and see you ladies here in two weeks!!!!

Re: 1st Tri with question

  • My bloat went away when I was nearing the second trimester, and I was able to fit back into my old pants. Try not to worry about it too much. I know that is easier said than done...

  • Totally normal. In fact, I never had symptoms. Actually, I still probably wouldn't have guessed if I didn't know I was pg. Symptoms will come and go as your hormones fluctuate and as your body becomes used to the hormone changes.
  • You will usually lose your bloat (hence the flat stomach) before you get your bump.  That's totally normal.  Sometimes I would go to sleep with a nice big belly and wake up with nothing.

Also, breast tenderness comes and goes.  It just came back last night for me, but it had been gone for a few weeks.

Your morning sickness is probably finished since you are nearing the 2nd tri, but it can come back as well.  Mine went away at 9 weeks and again at 12 weeks, but has been back consistantly since 13 weeks.

  • The exact same thing happened to me around week 12, I worried, everything was fine.

2 weeks later, everything came back, twice as bad.  LOL!!

  • There's a pretty good chance that since you are nearing the end of 1st tri your hormones have leveled out and the yucky symptoms have passed.  I had very few of the bad ones (been lucky in all three pregnancies) but I noticed right around the 12 week mark that the bloat suddenly disappeared and i could actually be braless to sleep without being in agonizing pain.  It's pretty common...mention to your OB next week of course, but I wouldn' t worry!

  • Yea that's normal.
  • As pp said, it's fine. My sore boobs went away at 10 weeks and the little bit of nausea I had in the beginning (which was minimal) went away before that, I think. And I never really bloated. If I were you, I'd be thankful to fit back into my pre-preg clothes for awhile longer! Hormones will make your symptoms come and go.
  • I'd advise to call your doctor and not wait until next week.
  • Totally normal. There were times I didn't feel pregnant at all. That will go away as soon as your bump starts coming out.  The sore boobs for me still come back from time to time. As long as you are not bleeding or having SEVERE cramps...but if you are having those symptoms, call the doctor immediately.

  • Same thing happened to me around the same time and then again last week.  My stomach can go up and down weekly... This week i look like i'm 5 months pregnant, last week i looked like i wasn't even pregnant...

have you been going to the bathroom more frequently? peeing more? passing more gas?  if you haven't, that's fine too...

see you soon on the 2nd tri

I am confused why Mrs.R thinks I should call doc....maybe I will to be safe??

  • normal - in fact enjoy of few weeks between lack of bloat and bump.  I bet you can even see your toes right now.
