Trying to Get Pregnant

You replied to my last post that you think I should get a new Dr.  I was just curious, did you have trouble w/ your first Dr?  Or for any of you other's who are lurking, did you seek out a new Dr because your 1st Dr wasn't cutting it?  I realize I have to make the decision for myself, but I'm curious to know how many people have experience Dr's that don't seem to care or know about PCOS.

Re: hjk5000

  • I ended up hating my first doctor.  My first doctor diagnosed me with PCOS, diabetes, and thyroid issues over the phone.  Needless to say doc 1 didn't apparently know anything about any of these things.  If she did she would have known that you can't confirm or deny any of these diseases without a blood test.  She blew me off and told me to get a referral from my PCP to go to an RE.  Oh she also told me when I asked about PCOS if she felt the next step would be clomid.  She simply told me that there was no way that clomid would work for me.  Oh I also was told that I weighed 75lbs more then I do.  UGH she frustrated me! Did she even look at my folder?  This I hope, is extreme, but if you aren't 100% about your doctor go find a new one.  You'll be happier and the lack of stress is totally worth it.

My new doc has done lots of blood work to confirm or deny these diagnosis and I couldn't be happier.

    Good Luck
