First tri 0-13wks3days
2nd tri 13w 3d - 26 w 5d
3rd tri 26w 6d until baby is delivered.?
?These are not the gold standard, and there are other guidelines that are within a few days. ?I get that. ?Use whatever you want. ?I promise you aren't going to find one that says 7-10 weeks is a mile marker.
But let's analyze for a moment. ?Let's say you were temping/testing early/visited by an angel, whatever. ?The EARLIEST you figure out you might have a bfp is 4-5 weeks. ?Especially since no matter how special you are, you were in fact, not pregnant the first 2wks of counting. ? That means that the longest you can stay on first is 7-9 weeks.
2nd tri is a FULL 13-14 weeks.
3rd tri is a FULL 13-15?, 16? who knows weeks.
The point of all of this is that if you think you're sick of seeing the same posts over and over and over NOW and you are in your 1st tri: honey you ain't seen nothin' yet. ?Imagine how sick you are going to be of names, it's a..., diaper bags, shower and "whyyyyyyy can't we all just get along," posts 15 or 16 weeks from now. ?
So think about it before you progress to the other boards. ?It's a long enough 40 weeks without trying to rush things along. ?I have found that for me, it has been far more fun to stay put and develop relationships with the girls who are due around the same time as me. ?THAT'S where I get the support and understanding everyone seems to think belongs on the boards in general.
This of course does not apply to those who are already mommies and who are all laughing at all of us anyway, no matter the board.?
Re: PSA: trimesters.
WOW! Impressive!
My bfp was also at 3 week 3 days, but i didn't bother with the Bump til 8 weeks or so and I was STILL sick of 1st trimester.
?
I really don't care if people post in 2nd as long as they aren't asking 1st tri questions. ?
I also got a bfp at 3w3d and I have no issue w/ women switching at 12 weeks. Every doctor I've ever been to (3 obgyn's and 2 fertility specialists) have said 2nd tri starts at 12 weeks so I think 12w is fine... but 12w is 12, not 10 or even 9 like some women are suggesting is an appropriate time to switch. Your risk of m/c decreases at 12 and thats the earliest a switch should be made IMO.
Well put. Thank you.
i agree darling dorothy.
lets build relationships
Untrue Dorthy. I was charting and got my BFP at 10DPO. That put me at 3w3d.
Honey - you've got company here.... in abundance.?
'Tis true. I think there may be more of us than 1st triers on this board.
