Will somebody please explain to me why people feel the urge to tell me how miserable I am going to be this summer?
Seriously.
It's not encouragement.
Its not kind.
It serves no purpose and it's certainly too late to change it now.
I'm going to be pregnant for the better half of the summer. So what? It's hot. That's why God made air-conditioning. Granted, I never said the power bill might not be a little higher than usual this year. I may wander around in very little clothing.
But no, I'm not miserable and I really don't appreciate being told by you (never had kids friend / gas station clerk / etc) how miserable I'm going to be.
anyone else getting some of these comments?
Re: "Are you miserable yet?" - summer pregnancy comments
I hear you - I am tired of it already.
Everyone down here feels it's necessary to tease me about being from the "cold north", and not being able to handle the summers while pregnant.
If it continues, I imagine my patience will grow thinner until I snap.
I get them constantly... living in Houston Texas it's kind of a stupid question seeing as summer lasts from March to freakin November! It wouldn't matter if I wasn't pregnant in the "summer" here people! I plan on proving everyone wrong by lathering myself with SPF 65 everyday and laying in the pool in my bikini all summer... Take that negative people!

lol... see my post below "are you excited?" Ppl are just plain dumb. When ppl ask when I'm due and I tell them Sept, they get this look on their face as if they feel sorry for me and then proceed to tell me how horrible it's going to be.
Um thanks maybe we should just terminate now so I won't be so uncomfortable in the summer b/c you think I will be... idiots. I can't stand it.

YES!
This has happened on quite a few occassions, one was at a Farmer's Market a couple weeks ago, and two strangers kept telling me how miserable I was going to be, when a third stranger told them to STFU haha I loved it!
Isn't everyone miserable on hot, humid 100 degree days? pregnant or not?
We will be just fine, and anyway, summer pg clothes look cuter than winter stuff, and we won't have to worry about bending over to put boots on.
I usually answer it with slightly TMI answers like, "I work from home, I sit all day naked/in a bikini to deal with the heat." Our AC is currently busted so we're waiting on that to be fixed but I figure the comments are only going to get worse once we hit over 100 daily.

Lmao. Yeah really.
I live in the deep south, deep deep south. Our seasons are summer, summer, summer and not summer. During not summer, you might want to consider wearing a sweater with your blue jeans.
Seriously, it's warm-hot here 10 months out of the year. Pregnancy takes 9 months. Um, yeah, I kinda figured I'd be hot at some point during the pregnancy.
I would rather be big and pregnant and spending all summer happily floating around in the lake than be big and pregnant and have to worry about my already clutzy butt slipping and falling on the ice.
If I had a nickle for every "wow, you're gonna be miserable in July" I'd have the kid's college paid for already. It is SO obnoxious. Esp. since in the Boston area last year it was cold and rainy for half the damn summer. We never know what we're going to get, but hey, thanks for the encouragement, jacka$$es!
