Baby Shower Hostess gift ideas?

Hey girls,

Just wondering if you all had any ideas to share.  My baby showers are coming up and I am in the middle of pondering gift ideas.  Thanks for any suggestions!

    i think flowers or some sort of edible gift are nice.

    I got my sister and friend a fancy box of gourmet jelly beans (my spinkle was right before Easter).

    I gave mine truffles from Harry & David's!

    Oh-and the other shower, I gave them those reed fragrance things...what are those called?! Do you know what I'm taking about....they have the fragrance oil and the reeds stick out of the top.

     I can't believe it's already time for your showers!!

    I'm a book wh0re so I like doing books that are fun/meaningful. I had a shower over the weekend and I taught one of my hosts to knit last fall. She mentioned a few weeks ago she wanted to start making baby hats, so I got her one of my favorite (really pretty, gift like) baby hat books that has a lot of knitting basics and really cute baby/kids hats (she has a 4 yr old and 5 mo old).

    My other host bought a house last year and is redoing the whole thing practically so I bought her this pretty coffee table like decorating book by Domino (the magazine) that was really cool looking.  Both really loved them!

    Some ideas:

    -Spa/restaurant gift certificate

    -I gave two of my hostesses a really nice granite/silver cheese try with nice silver cheese knives (they are both into cooking and hosting....). I got them at Crate & Barrel.....

    What do your hostesses like? I tend to like to give more practical gifts than the typical lotion/candle set......

    - A mani/pedi certificate

    - My mother and MIL/SIL did the showers. We bought them each a photo frame that says "I love my Grandma/Aunt". They loved them!

    When I hosted my sister's baby shower, she gave me a nice card with a Sephora gift card inside. Ha ha, then again, she knows I'm obsessed with that store.Stick out tongue
