For those with boys

Do any of your boys have hair on their balls? Totally random question i know, but both my boys have blonde ball hair that is about 1/4-1/2 in long and i wanted to know if any of you have ever heard of this before? If so is it normal.. what does it mean?

Re: For those with boys

  • Mine don't have it, but I'd guess it might mean extra testosterone? You could ask your pedi about it just in case it's a hormonal imbalance or something but I'm guessing it's fine.

  • OMG, so funny that you ask this because I was wondering the EXACT same thing.  The other day I was changing one of them in front of the window and the hair is blonde so I had never noticed it before, but when the light hit I saw it, and I thought it was weird.  I have no idea if it is normal but was going to ask the pedi about it at their 1 year visit.  The hair is not as long as you describe but in the same location and then in the pubic area as well.  I was also noticing that one of the boys has more hair on his legs than I realized little guys have, he also has more of the hair that you describe.
I am interested to see other's responses, and so glad you asked this.
  • I have no idea but this post makes me laugh and gives me something to look for on DS!
  • My DS has never had any... I would mention it to your pedi. It is probably nothing- but there is something called precocious puberty - where a child produces hormones too early. It can be stopped with meds.
  • Not only does my DS have hairy balls, but all my girls have hairy gines.  It's all very short and very fine and very blonde, but it's there.  Not that I study them or anything, LOL; the changing table is in front of a window where the afternoon sun comes in and the light just hits all their bits "right," LOL!  I always just assumed that everyone is born with the hair they are going to have but when puberty hits it just grows longer and darker.  I never really talked to anyone about it though, LOL!
  • One of my boys does and when I asked the pedi she said it was fine, she wasn't worried about any testosterone problems at all. Maybe ask the pedi about it???
