Suggestions - Teacher Appreciation Week

My DD is in daycare full time and I love the daycare and love her teachers.  My daycare sent an email over the weekend saying that this week was Teacher Appreciation Week and to remember to say thank you or give them a small token of appreciation.  Now I feel obligated to get them a little something.  There are two full time teachers and then 2 part timers that only do a few hours a week.  Can anyone give me some suggestions for what I can get them?  I was thinking of getting one thing for all of them for either the classroom or something instead of getting 4 seperate 'small' gifts.

Any suggestions??

  • Hi there!  I'm a teacher, and one time a mom gave me a bottle of hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works...it smelled delicious!  They also make that in a lotion now and it great stuff!:)  I know that's not a group gift, but I had to mention it.

  • I'm trying to figure out what to do too, so far I'm thinking either flowers or food - cookies, muffins or bagels. I might make some muffins tonight to take in tomorrow for them.

Food is usually a safe bet.  A big box of chocolates or bagels or lunch or something.  I just gave DD's teachers each a $5 GC to Starbucks -- not a lot but enough for a coffee drink.

As a teacher, I really appreciate a heartfelt note.  There's always food in the teacher's lounge so that, while appreciated, makes it hard to keep eating healthy.  A $5 gift card to Starbucks is nice too, but the notes are what I remember.
  • I'm not even sure if our daycare is aware of Teacher appreciation Day/Week.  Since today is the official day, I took in some pastries this morning.  Just enough for her two main teachers and a few extras.  Her teacher looked totally surprised when I told her why I was bringing them goodies.
  • There is one main teacher and four helpers in DD class.  I gave them 4 different flavors of soap from Bath and Body Works and a card to share. (4/$10)  I said thank you for taking care of my daughter so well, and I knew they would go through a lot of soap- so here is something they could enjoy.

  • I would say have a digital photo of your LO printed from Walmart of Walgreens with the words "Thank You" on the photo. Probably costs somewhere around 35 cents each if that
  • We usually give them Target gift cards. They work their butts off all day long, keep our kids happy and safe, always have smiles and tons of patience and don't get paid much. I know lots of people bring bath and body, food, etc.
  • I teach also, and gift cards and food is always really appreciated!  Just a little treat (candy bars, cookies, etc) to get us through the day or, as previous posters mentioned, a gift card to Starbucks is an awesome surprise.  It doesn't have to be a huge amount, but again, just a little treat goes a long way....
