Lowell General Hospital & OB

Hi,
I am a newbie and need to find a doctor and a hospital. I liked LGH's website. Any body have experience positive or negative with LGH?

I also need recommendations for an OB.

Thank you!!

Re: Lowell General Hospital & OB

  • I delivered at LGH in September, and have only positive things to say about my experience.  I ended up needing a c-section, so I was there for 4 days.  Everyone was terrific and very helpful.  I also loved my ob, Dr. Estella.  I highly recommend her!

     Good luck!

  • My family has had a horrible experience at Lowell General and I would never go back.  However, it was not in ob/gyn.  If you have any questions pm me.

  • I had my son a year ago at LGH and will have my next child there as well (hopefully sometime next year). I felt very comfortable there and ended up having a good experience even though i was soooo scared going in.  I ended up with a c section after 30 hours of labor. My nurses were amazing on the labor and delivery floor - i cant say enough good things about them. My obgyn was also Dr Estella and I absolutely love her. I will not go to anyone else! Her office is in LGH. Good Luck
  • I had both my kids at LGH and my experience was wonderful! I didn't have a whole lot of experience with the L&D department - my DD's birth was emergent, my son was premature - so I was in and out of there within  couple hours both times, but I spent 4 days each in the Mother and Infant unit and it was fantastic. I never had to ask twice for anything for myself or the baby and the LC's are SO attentive (if you want them to be - BFing is NOT foreced on you at all, but if it's what you want, they offer tons of help). I, too, saw Dr. Estella, and LOVED her, but, she is no longer practicing OB (that was as of the first of this year). Dr. Madrid delivered my DD and assisted with my son and he was wonderful, so he's someone I would recommend . . . his office is in the building on LGH grounds.
  • Thank you so much ladies for all the wonderful information!!! We went to visit LGH and really liked it. Thanks so much!

  • For anyone else wondering about LGH, i had a tour and it was very informative. The staff seemed very friendly and i decided thats where i wanted to have my first baby. Dr. Madrid is my doctor and he is also great. Everytime i have a question or concerns he is always available to answer them and check me out. Dr. Madrid's staff is also great with the exception of the Cambodian assistant that he has (that the only one there so you'll know who she is). She is rude, short with answers, and very quick in brushing you off. With the exception of her, i would definently recomend his office and lowell general hospital.
