We got 4 and 4 mattress protectors so in case of middle of the night blow outs we didn't have to do wash. Comes in handy when they are sick, you can make up the bed with two layers (protector, sheet, then protector and sheet) so if they dirty one, you can whip it off and have the other all set. Less time fussing with getting them cleaned up and back to bed.

Thanks, my GF told me about that one. Works great!
i bought 4. my friend told me to layer the crib mattress with 2 layers of mattress pads and sheets so that if they poop/pee thru one layer, you can strip off the pad and sheet and have a clean sheet and pad underneath. she said it's especially useful at night when you are tired and don't feel like getting a new sheet to put on.
