I'm bored and curious:
My male boss asked me in front of all of my male coworkers (some of who report to me) how late my period was before I knew I was pregnant. I don't even remember what I said, I was so mortified and caught off guard. I have also been informed by other women that he WILL be asking personal, detailed questions about my labor and delivery.
His wife has had 3 kids, so I guess he feels that he is "in the know." That was by far the most inappropriate thing anyone has said this pregnancy.
And go!
Re: Worst comment you've ever had while PG?
from my very own mother- at about 28 weeks pregnant or so... "you've lost a lot of weight"
umm yah... i have gained weight, feel like a house, and that burned
Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
i got 14 inches of hair cut off... when i showed my mom the new cut she said.
"it looks great. at least now you look good from the neck up."
my mom is a twat.
idiot male coworker:
"looking at you makes me really happy i can't get pregnant-you look so uncomfortable"
um, thanks?
frozen transfer a success! boy #2 via VBAC
I really have not had any. I thnk the worst was someone telling me I am going to be huge by the end...but I just told her my son was 9.4 so I grow them big. I do not think I look that big now.
I also do not like people commenting on seeing my belly button through my shirt, I can not help that it sticks out!!
"Wow honey your a$$ is getting wide, not bigger just wider........"
Yup from DH. You would think that after doing this once he would have learned his lesson.
He got the silent treatment for a few days, the ladies at the bank all know what he said and so do my co-workers. He has not heard the end of it - nor should he!
same coworker:
quacked at me
told me i belonged in the macy's day parade
oh one other - an HR PERSON(!!!!) asked if my pregnancy was planned
oh yes... and while not hurtful, i had a crude comment from some guy DH went to high school with- we ran into him at a bar, they don't keep in touch or anything, but anyway- it as time for me to go home so we were saying goodbye and he said, "take those pregnancy ti tties home".
nice (and good thing dh didn't hear while we were still there)

there are so many.
One of the teachers at our school, whose husband has a job that pays somewhere in the 6 figures, asked how we expected to support a child while both of us are teachers. Umm, there are 2 other couples here that have not only supported more than one child, but also sent all of them to private schools. I think we can manage. grrr.
I got this one a lot too!
I don't know if it's bad, but I always get "I don't envy you for having twins"
I usually tell them I look forward to the challenge. I also think to myself "I seriously doubt you could handle twins."
"You are wadling! How cute!", "You look so round", "Are you sure its not twins?", "Oh, your just bigger than her (comparing to another pg lady)".....oh and this week....drum roll...from my doctor! Treating me like 32 pounds was horrendous amount of weight to gain.
You name it I think I have gotten it, but oh well, on the other hand DH thinks I am beautiful!
Well, my cousin's wife is pregnant now too and she's about a month behind me (due in August)...pre-pregnancy she was a really skinny thing (probably size 2, and I'm not, more like size 18-20)....anyways....my own grandma said to me, "why aren't you showing as much as Heidi (cousin's wife)? you can see her baby bump really good already, you don't even look pregnant!?"
that was around 20 weeks for me...I really started popping out more around 25 weeks. I told her that I wasn't itty bitty before and it takes longer to show when you start out with extra meat. It was just rude, especially coming from my own grandma. She is old, and kinda loosing it, so I tried not to let it get to me.
But then the next time I saw her, was around 28 weeks, and she was all like, "OMG! You're big!" It's like, yeah I'm pregnant...and I'm only gonna get bigger now that I'm in the last 2 months...that's when the baby grows the most! Crazy grandma!
CW: "I can't see you being a mother"
Me (in my head): Well, i can't see you being a functional adult but look how that turned out.
THIS!!!!!!
omg you poor thing, how terrible!!! i think your short hair looks great!
A few weeks ago a male c/w said to me "So if your baby was born now, would it live?"
I also had a family member say yesterday, "Wow I just didn't expect you to be this big this early."
OMG... for real?! Love your thoughts in your head?it made me laugh... some people!
older neighbor lady of my mom to me at my shower "oh honey, i know you are having a girl, she stole all your beauty"
The worst? Early in the pregnancy a coworker commented on my frequent bathroom trips, so I told her it was just morning sickness. She stopped what she was doing and said "Oh honey, you're way too young to be having a baby! You didn't do it on purpose did you?" She later apologized and told me she thought I was 19, as if that excuses telling someone who is already pregnant that they shouldn't be and asking if it was an accident.
Second worst was having a woman get onto her kid for asking me if I was pregnant by saying "That's rude! What if she had just been fat?"
Last week I walked into the office and my boss says to me, in front of my direct supervisor, "Meghan, I am concerned about your weight"
I replied "do you really want to go there?" Then told him "if it were any of your business, I would tell you I have only gained about 5 lbs so far so..."
Now I am not thin by any means but really?!?
