not sure if there's a rule or if people randomly decide - but say af comes at like 6pm - do you call that CD1 or do you say the next day?

I'm not sure if there's a rule, but I always called that CD1, no matter what time of day it started. HTH!

Yep, first day of red blood (not spotting) is day 1.
