Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I can't take it anymore!

Isabel's reflux seems a little worse lately.  She's having trouble burping, so her stomach is a little swollen and when she does burp, they're wet burps.  I hear the reflux coming up constantly and when it does her eyes water and she makes a face like as if she tasted something really bad.  I HATE that my daughter has to go through this.  I had four miscarriages before having her, then she was born with that mild deformity, had surgery the day after she was born, and now this shiit.  Life is so fuucking unfair.  I'm sorry to sound like a baby, but when I see my daughter suffering over and over and over again, it really tests my faith.  I cried this morning when I woke up and I heard the reflux coming up again and again.  This sucks.

  • I know it is hard! I am sorry you are going through this...My ds is on his 4 reflux med...they also added cereal last night...He is now on Previcid 1.5 ml...it seemed to work pretty well...he slept 8 hours! Thats a first!

    Is your lo on anything?

You do not sound like a cry baby. You sound like a loving mom who doesn't want her child to hurt. I'm so sorry y'all are having to go through this. It's the worst feeling when you know your LO is unhappy or hurting and you are so limited in what you can do about it. I hope she starts feeling better.

You don't sound like a baby - just a worried mama.  Sorry you and your LO are having to go through this - hope you find something to help her reflux soon.  **hugs**

Thank you.  Yes, she's on Axid and on Similac Sensitive RS.  It seemed better for a bit but these past few days she's been worse.  I'm going to the pedi today.

Oh Cristy...I'm so sorry! But this is a rough patch. Isa is beautiful and otherwise healthy, right? She's happy, you love her more than you can show her and you do everything you can to make her comfortable. You are an amazing mother and before you know it, she'll be crawling, and then walking and then getting into everything. This will just be a blip on the radar :) HANG IN THERE!!

You're very sweet. Thank you so much.  I just hate to see her in pain or uncomfortable.  I thought motherhood was supposed to be a "happy" time....=(  BTW, "Blood Meridian" is a really good book.  I love that you have it in your siggy.... =)

Thank you!  It appears that the only thing that will help her is time.  Everything else doesn't seem to be doing the trick.....

  • You're a great mommy, and you are doing all you can to help and comfort her. You dont sound like a baby...and your story is certainly admirable. I've never dealt with reflux, so I'm sorry I dont have any advice there..but I wish you the best of luck. She is gorgeous.Smile
  • I am sorry you are going through this! Just hang in there, reflux will get better soon, the older she gets! I know it is hard to watch her go through this, but just try to focus on all the great things....you seem to be a great momma and she is lucky to have you!

Thank you for the support!  I really need it today.....Other than the reflux she has a cleft palate (hole in the roof of her mouth).  This causes her to choke sometimes when the reflux comes up.  We called 911 the other day because we couldn't get her to breathe, but finally she did.  I hope this passes quickly.  I really, really do.....

Thanks. I don't wish reflux on ANYONE.  It's horrific to watch your child in pain.  I hate it.

Thank you.  Although I don't want her to grow up, I do want this reflux to go away soon.  It's making me crazy hearing it come up and watching her suffer.

  • I'm so sorry you and your DD have to go through this challenging time. It's the worst feeling in the world watching your LO in pain or uncomfortable and knowing you can't take it away. But, what you can do, and probably better than anyone else, is comfort her. Just keep loving your beautiful baby girl and this time will pass. I'll keep your DD in my prayers that she finds relief soon.
