I'm really torn on this one. The only positive thing about having another c section is we'll atleast be able to plan it all out. I may only have to stay 2 nights so my initial thought was to have DH stay the first night with me, with my mom home with DS and then switch them the second night. I know the first night I'll be pretty useless with the baby due to the surgery. No final plan yet though!
I'm a little nervous about the whole thing as this will be my first night away from DS.
Wow- I hadn't thought about that! I'll ask my ILs to keep DS so DH can stay with me and the baby. There was nothing like those first couple of nights with the three of us together. I want the same experience with #2.
He will be staying with me, and dd will be staying with my parents. I want him with me, and my parents can bring dd to the hospital to see us several times.
I think DH will stay with me and DS will stay with our parents. They both live close by and will be more than happy to watch him while we're at the hospital. He will be 7 when the baby is born, so he will come and visit after school (if it's a weekday) and then spend the night with one of our parents.
I agree- I think it is so important for DH and I to have that time in the hospital together with our new LO. I hate the idea of us both being away from DS, but I think it is super important to have that same experience that we shared the first time. Yes, it's baby #2, but it is just as important to me to have my DH there to share in those 1st couple days in getting aquainted with our precious new addition to the family.
My mom actually babysits my DD, so she is very comfortable over there. The plan is for her to go over there when I'm in labor. The only different circumstance that we haven't had to consider until this week is that my mom is having a mastectomy this month, and the reconstruction part will be done in August or September...
So, if need be, I have no problem chilling in the hospital with myself with new baby watching Judge Judy for a couple of days But I do have a couple of sisters and aunts and cousins who would be more than happy to help out as well.

We haven't discussed it yet, but I'm guessing that he will spend the first night with me. My sister or my mom will take the girls. Or MIL may stay here with them. He will be doing a lot of back and forth because we've got 2 dogs as well. Thankfully, the hospital is only 15 minutes away!
My DH was not able to stay with me the first time because the hospital didn't have private rooms. I got lucky and didn't have a roommate, but he still was not allowed to use the extra bed.
This time around, even though I think they now offer private rooms, I will still probably stay there without DH. I want to make it easy on DS, and I think he will be happier if DH is at home with him, rather than just our parents.
Mine says he is going to go home to stay with the others-we have 3 at home. I'm really sad about this-with DS he stayed with me and it was really great having him there. I wanted to have the same experience with this one, so I'm really bummed about that. Maybe his mother can come and stay with them those first few nights.
My MIL lives really close to us and spends lots of time with DS so she is going to watch him for the first few days and DH will stay with me in the hospital.
still undecided on this. if my mom comes up to stay overnight then i'm hoping DH will stay w/ me at least for the first night if i'm in pain from the delivery. when i delivered DS i believe i broke my tailbone so the pain was very intense and i really could not get up out of bed alone so DH stayed w/ me the first night.

My DH will be home with our son during the night, but during the day he'll come up to be with me and the new baby for awhile.

He said he would do whatever I wanted...

My FI will stay with me in the hospital as our DD will be staying with my brother and SIL for that time.
