Found some cool frozen veggies at Whole Foods

Organic diced butternut squash and sweet potatoes in the freezer section. My girls are in hog heaven since we haven't made either of those in a long time (since the purees days, it never really dawned on me to make them into cubes and the mashed version is so dang messy). Charlotte is going to turn into a sweet potato, I think she ate about 20 cubes of them for dinner alone!

They also had meatless meatballs there, which I'm curious to try out tomorrow.

  • Funny, I totally forgot about sweet potatos too... or maybe I blocked them from my memory because that was such a staple of DS's diet for months!

  • Yeah - I have been using their frozed fruit to get us through the winter - blueberries, mango, peaches.?
  • I'll definitely have to give those a try because peas are just about the only veggie DS has been eating lately.
  • The regular grocery stores sell non-organic frozen sweet potatoes, they are next to the french fries, called "mashers" or something like that.  The intended idea is you nuke the whole bag and then mash them, but they are actually perfect bite-size pieces to do just a few at a time.  DS loves them!  Sometimes I still do normal baked sweet potatoes, but since he can eat a whole potato for dinner, this makes up for when I don't have a fresh one on hand.
