tummy time...do you use a boppy?

If so when did you start that?  I currently put DS flat on the floor, I was wondering if the boppy would help him last longer.  But then I am afraid his head will just be dangling over the top of the boppy.  Maybe I will try it this afternoon.

Re: tummy time...do you use a boppy?

  • DS hated tummy time, so I used the Boppy because he didn't seem to mind that as much. DS was literally able to lift his head no problem from birth so we never had a problem with the boppy. I think you should be able to position him though if you play with it so that his head is supported. Now DS loves tummy time usually.

  • Nope we just put him flat on the floor.  He hates it and fusses pretty much the whole time.  He only lasts maybe 3 minutes.  I tried the boppy too and he hated that even more.
  • We did tummy time on our chests a lot when Stasa was younger.  I would also sit on the ground and prop her on my leg.  They make little boppy pillows for tummy time - that might help.  She would only last a few minutes at a time when she was that age.

  • we have a boppy playmat dd loves it.
  • We dont have the regular boppy, but we have the boppy newborn lounger and we use that w/DD.  We try to do it everyday but she HATES it.  Im lucky if I can get 3 min out of her.   God forbid you put her on that thing, but she does really great when she's on my chest.  If she's in a super good mood and playing on her playmat, we'll flip her on her tummy and she'll ususally stay for about 10 min.  Lately though, she just has no intrest.  We'll put her on her tummy, and she'll just lay there.  Only when she starts to get mad will she start turning & lifting her head.
  • Sometimes.  I like it when I'm sitting on the couch - I'll put her next to me - I think being up off the ground helps.

Try it on the bed too b/c then he's up and can see you move around better.

  • Sometimes.  If DD is really not enjoying tummy time, putting her on the Boppy can help.
