We usually say something like "Did you bonk your head?" or "did you fall down?" We're boring like that, haha. I think I've probably said "owie" and "ouchie." I don't really like "boo boo" either, idk why.

Just as my goal is to say bathroom instead of "potty," I hope to say "did you hurt yourself?" or "aw, I'm sorry you have a scratch" instead or owie, boo boo, etc. We'll see if it actually happens.

Depends on what he did. Generally, it's a bump. So I say "Oh, did you get a bump?"

So far the only thing she's done is hit her head (which she does entirely too often now that she's crawling) and I just say something like "Aw, did you fall down and hit your head?" No owies or boo-boos here, though it's not intentional... just didn't seem like the thing to say at the time lol.

If he hits his head, I say, "Did you bonker your noggin?" or if he falls I usually just say, "Crash!" but I most often say, "Owchie, owchie", especially if he has a diaper rash, I say, "Oh no, is your butt 'owchie, owchie'?".

If Joseph falls, he's usually more surprised than anything, and that's why he'll cry, so when he falls, I say "Tumble monkeys!" If he giggles, he's okay. If he still cries, he hurt something somewhere.

I don't know...probably owie since Boo Boo is our dog's nickname (Malibu). That would probably be confusing!

I've started calling it "owie". It is more that I want her to associate "owie" with something hurting so that if she does something that might hurt somebody else (like pulling hair which she loves to do!) that she will begin to understand that it is "owie" to the other person.

Does that make sense?

ETA: When she bumps her head we first laugh. Usually she does too. If she cries we know that there is a definite "owie" and not just the suprise.

If DD falls, I always ask, "did you go boom boom?" If she hurt herself, then I ask "Did you hurt yourself?"

I'm with you on this. I don'y mind hearing other people use these terms- they just don't come naturally from my mouth.

My mom always would look at me and say 'oh dear' so I randomly started calling them 'oh dears' I think it's sweet so that's what I'm going to try. Better than boo boo I think.
