Can I hurt the baby by poking him?

I know probably a silly question, but I was poking at my belly and realized that it hurts when I poke the actual baby. Now I am afraid to poke at him.

So my question, if I am poking at my belly, can I hurt the baby??

I don't think so... I mean, the dr. does it, and the technicians do it during u/s (sometimes really violently!). ?I'm just worried about poking his eye out! jk!

No, he is well protected in your uterus.

I'm pretty sure you can't. He's got lots of cushioning in there - the skin and flesh on your belly, plus a amniotic fluid - he should be fine!

Nope, the amniotic fluid around LO will cushion them. You'd have to punch pretty hard to hurt them.

im sure hell be fine. i poke mine and the only thing that happens is i get a kick back if she awake and moving.

This is what I was thinking, esspecially because I don't know if I am poking a leg, an arm, butt, back, or face...

The Dr's poke at him, but they know what they are doing, I have no idea what I am poking at.

yes! if they can bruise when they come out they can bruise when they're in. don't give your baby a black eye!

I don't think you have a problem. I have a DS that hits my belly and a cat and dog that use it as a springboard. I wouldn't worry too much. You have way too much padding in the way.
