still the eldest, baby in my belly

42 weeks and 1 day!

i won't tell my story again (about being induced last week and it not working), but just wanted to let you know i'm still here. :)

major pressure from the hospital to induce, but we decided to hold out until tuesday.  baby has been tested and is doing great inside.  one of our doctors said in his 28 years of practice he has never seen a woman go so far overdue.  but that is because in our culture we induce, right?  in other cultures (um, try england even) it is totally common to wait until after 42 weeks.  we just wanted every chance for a natural birth. 

we have tried EVERYTHING to induce naturally!  

except castor oil...  we just bought some and i am going to take it after dinner!  yikes. :)

 pray if you can for us to have this baby before tuesday!  we are so emotional over here!

    GL! Hopefully the castor oil works. If not, I've heard getting your feet rubbed can also work. Try and convince your DH on that one Wink

    Have you tried acupuncture?  I've had several friends have luck with that and one friend even had her first contraction on the acupuncture table.

    Your right in our culture we do jump the gun and induce. I personally would love to be induced now and I still have 2 weeks to go.?

     My friend went 43 weeks, and her 11lb boy was an incredibly healthy and easy baby.  He is five now, and brilliant!

    I applaud you!!!!

    I think people forget that full term is 37-42! If there is no medical need for an induction, than why? Baby will come when baby is ready!

    I've been looking for an update from you. ?I'm so glad to hear you are staying strong!! ?I'm so happy that there are people like you who won't cave to the white coats. ?Did you see my reply to your post about membrane stripping? ?I never saw a reply.

    I know this has been slow torture for you guys. ?I'll be praying for you and hope the CO works and doesn't make you sick. ?Keep us posted!!

    thanks ladies!  i REALLY appreciate the support!  REALLLLLY!  i got freaked out after the doctor told me i was the most overdue, but i just re-read my bradley method book and it gave me more confidence.  

    next time - HOME BIRTH!

    i haven't been up for updating my blog, but one of these days i need to list all the different things we have tried...  from sex to a hot bowl of curry. :)
