TTC after 35

More time for TTC

Hey Ladies,

I just got laid off from my job of 15 1/2 years.  More time for TTC!  At least there is unemployment.  Is it bad that I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders?

Anyway, I'm going on a "girls" weekend with some friends from college this weekend.  So, I'll at least have a great time before looking for another job.

DH is being very supportive!

  • Sorry to hear that you got laid off. But I understand how you feel about the weight being lifted off your shoulders. I had a silimar experience about 10 years ago. If it is what you want then I hope you find another job soon. But enjoy your time off too.

Have a great time with your girlies. And I hope you get your BFP really soon especially now that the stress is lifted and you have plenty of time to BD.

  • I'm so sorry. I've been there twice and it can be a scary time. It sounds like you are looking at the positive aspects thought.  Enjoy this weekend and try not to think about the job at all. Go crazy, you don't have to work on Monday!

  • Sorry to hear about the job.  Sounds like you are feeling ok about it.  I was in a similar situation several years ago and ended up changing careers and finding a job I love!!!  It really turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  Hoping it will be for you too.

    Have fun this weekend!!

  • glad you seem to be taking it in stride!!

    Have fun with your gals!

  • I'm sorry.  I know that can be stressful.  But, when I was laid off, it was absolutely the best thing that could have happened.  I got a much, much better job, and some time off!  Good Luck.
  • Oh, Shy, I'm sorry. But you're attitude is fantastic.

FWIW, I was laid off almost 2.5 years ago from a job I absolutely loved. I would never have left voluntarily. But know what? Now I work from home, make almost as much  money, and have 1/10th of the stress.  I never would have had the guts to take this step without the layoff.

I hope your layoff is a blessing in disguise, too. Hurray for a suportive DH! And  have fun this weekend!

  • I, too, hope this layoff is a blessing in disguise.  Enjoy your time off, and I hope you find a great job soon!
