PIP your baby's cone head at birth

Even though I ended up needing an emergency c-section I had pushed for a long time with little progress except for the fact that I gave my baby a banana head.  It is so freakish I am a little obsessed with it.

  • She was getting her bath at the hospital. I think this is why they throw those little pink & blue striped hats on them so fast! :)

  • I remember it being pretty cone shaped, but it doesn't look that bad in his first pics.

  • I don't have a picture, but I have a funny story. I pushed for three hours and ultimately needed a vacuum to get M out so picture the coniest cone head ever. I also had some extra bleeding after birth so poor DH is looking at me bleeding and the dr. and nurses trying to get the bleeding to stop and M's super cone head and thinks to himself "my baby's is deformed and my wife is going to bleed to death". Apparently he was pretty freaked out about this in his sleep deprived state, but DH was a champ - put on his best poker face, told me our baby was beautiful and I was doing great.

LOL! Your poor hubby...that must have been a scary moment for him! I'm glad he held it together for you.

Here's Kyva the morning after she was born. I don't have a good picture of her head right after birth, but she didn't have much of a conehead because she came out so quickly.
