pump preparation?

I got my breast pump yesterday (Lanisoh double electric) and it occurred to me that maybe I need to do some prep before using it.  Do I need to clean or sterilize it?  It might say on the instructions, but for some reason I'm a little hesitant to open the box if I don't need to mess with it right now.

    don't open and save receipt.

    easy enough to boil or sterilize the parts after you get home.

    Ditto pp.  Just tape the receipt to the box.  All you have to do to sterilize is boil the parts, which is easy enough.  I didn't use my pump for 6 weeks post-partum.
