If my dentist got near me without gloves

I'd punch him in the throat! That is so beyond gross to me!!!!

  • I agree and it wouldn't happen now. But it was common in the 1970s and early 80s for sure. There's a reason it isn't any more.

    My mum wore gloves from the time she graduated (1976) but she was ahead of her time and her brother was a Dr and she was already on top of infectious disease control. It was done then, but rarely.

    By 1986 everyone did it or they went out of business.

  • BTW back then of course they did not know about AIDS, they were being careful about Hep, especially unidentified variations of Hep that couldn't yet be tested for...and sure enough along came Hep C years later.
